K. Lee Riley, Jr. co-chairs the Banking and Financial Services Practice Group at Shapiro Sher Guinot & Sandler. He concentrates in commercial, asset-based, and real estate-based transactions. He also handles workouts, refinancings, and restructuring matters.
Mr. Riley serves as lender's counsel in a variety of financing transactions, including real estate acquisition and development finance transactions; construction lending and project finance transactions; revolving, secured and unsecured lines of credit; accounts receivable and fixed asset-based loans; capital equipment leasing; Small Business Administration loans; and multi-creditor and multi-tiered loan transactions.
From 1989 until he joined the Firm in 1992, Mr. Riley was associated with another large firm in Baltimore. From 1989 to 1990, he served as Assistant Editor of The Business Lawyer, a joint publication of the Section of Business Law of the American Bar Association and the University of Maryland School of Law.
Mr. Riley is a co-developer of an in-house presentation for bank loan officers and credit analysts, and has lectured on commercial transactions for the Maryland Institute for Continuing Professional Education of Lawyers, Inc. (MICPEL). He currently serves on the loan committee for the Neighborhood Revitalization Program, a division of the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development, and he chairs the Uniform Commercial Code Subcommittee of the Maryland State Bar Association Business Law Section. Mr. Riley is the former President of the Board of the Norbel School, a K-12 special-needs school in Howard County, Maryland.

- Mr. Riley testified on February 21 in Annapolis before the General Assembly's Economic Matters Committee in favor of certain changes to the UCC being proposed by the Uniform Law Commission.
