Paul V. Danielson is an associate in the Firm’s bankruptcy department. An experienced litigation attorney, he specializes in creditors’ rights, insurance insolvency, and Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 bankruptcies. Mr. Danielson has successfully counseled creditors and debtors at the trial and appellate levels, in reorganizations, the recovery of assets, and other bankruptcy related matters. He has also represented municipal and state governments. He lives in Columbia, Maryland.

Representative Matters

• Has overseen over 400 preference lawsuits and recovered over $2 million for a litigation trust created by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland in the context of a major Chapter 11 case.
• Recovered over $7 million in assets for a secured creditor bank in the Chapter 11 case of a large carnival company.
• Successfully argued $20 million claim classification issue at the trial and appellate levels on behalf of the State of Ohio’s Department of Insurance in a state court proceeding concerning the liquidation of insolvent insurance companies.
• Has represented the Chapter 7 trustee in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maryland and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
• Successfully negotiated out-of-court liquidation of a small company with over $2 million in debt.
