Attorney Profile

Patrick Dillon is an associate in Shapiro Sher’s litigation department, where he advocates for clients facing complex construction, commercial, and civil disputes. He represents businesses and individuals across Maryland in complex matters ranging from construction defect claims to fraud, real estate, and contract litigation.  

With experience spanning trial and appellate courts in both state and federal jurisdictions, Mr. Dillon brings deep knowledge of the litigation process, from pre-suit strategy through trial and appeal, and has successfully handled cases involving real estate conflicts, commercial landlord-tenant issues, negligence actions, and post-judgment enforcement. 

A graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law, Mr. Dillon earned distinction for his advocacy and leadership, receiving the William P. Cunningham Award and induction into the Order of the Barristers. Before joining Shapiro Sher, he clerked for the Hon. Lawrence P. Fletcher-Hill of the Circuit Court for Baltimore City. He built a foundation in civil litigation at a regional firm. Today, he is trusted by clients to protect their interests and guide them through every stage of litigation with precision and confidence.

Understanding the MAR Residential Contract of Sale

An agreement to buy or sell real property in Maryland must be in writing, and Buyers and Sellers of residential real estate typically use standardized form contracts to document the transaction. The provisions of the MAR Contract are legally binding on the parties and are often required by law, but many are not negotiable. It is therefore important for Buyers and Sellers to understand what they agree to before signing the Contract.
